So, I decided against sending out a now ‘traditional’ Festive Greetings email this year. Instead I opted to take a few moments to send out a very personal request to all of you- entrepreneurs, freelancers and startup teams from a fellow entrepreneur.
We are sometimes glamourised in the press and the movies. We are constantly being told how awesome being an entrepreneur is supposed to be. We are frequently asked how ‘cool’ it must be to be in such a dynamic industry. And most of the time, it can be both awesome and ‘cool’.
But it’s also tough. Very, very tough. And you know that just as much as the rest of us.
So please, please please this festive season take a few moments for yourselves.
Connect with old friends, get in touch with family, go offline even if it’s just for a day or so*, and give yourself the gift of taking a break.
Go on, you deserve it! And your body/mind/friends and family will thank you for it.
Keep the passion fellow entrepreneurs, and have a very merry festive season.
* I know it seems impossible and those who know me personally will wonder if I’ll manage to myself.
